Those under the age of 35 probably won’t remember most of these faces. Plenty of history represented here from some of Australia’s earliest pioneers and innovators including:

Aviator Sir Charles Kingsford Smith (1897-1935) and engineer/astronomer/inventor Lawrence Hargrave (1850-1915) on the $20 note;

Architect Francis Greenway (1777-1837) and writer/poet Henry Lawson (1867-1922) on the $10 note;

Humanitarian Caroline Chisholm (1808-1877) on the $5 note;

Pharmacologist/pathologist Howard Walter Florey (1898-1968) on the $50 note, and;

Wool pioneer/politician John Macarthur (1767-1834) on the $2 note.

I was hoping to find a fabric with dollar signs for the lining, but couldn’t find anything unfortunately. I think the green swirls add a certain elegance though, with green thread and zipper to match.
